KUALA LUMPUR, March 10th, 2024 – Berjaya Corporation Berhad (“BCorp”), the diversified Malaysian conglomerate, today hosted a special movie outing for children from Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah in Berjaya Times Square.

The event featured a screening of the highly anticipated Kung Fu Panda 4 at mmCineplexes Plus, the first ever Plus outlet in Malaysia that offers unparalleled comfort and state-of-the-art cinematic experiences designed to cater to diverse audiences.

In her address, Ms. Nerine Tan, Joint Group Chief Executive Officer of BCorp, warmly welcomed the orphans and children from challenging backgrounds from the centre, along with their caretakers and media guests. She underscored the significance of organising a memorable outing for the children before the start of the upcoming school semester, aiming to provide them with cherished stories to share with their friends.

“As the schooling semester is starting tomorrow, we would like to give the children a memorable outing that they can bring with them as a precious story to be shared with their friends in school,” said Ms. Nerine Tan.

The Kung Fu Panda franchise, with its enduring popularity and life lessons, was chosen as the perfect vehicle to spread positivity and encouragement. Ms. Nerine Tan shared quotes from the movie, emphasising the importance of self-acceptance and exploring one’s talents.

“It is OK to be you, and nobody is ordinary. It is just how you explore your talents,” Ms. Nerine Tan said, expressing her hope that the children would find inspiration and joy in the film.

The special needs children and guests then enjoyed the latest instalment of the beloved animated Kung Fu Panda series that has spanned over 16 years.

Ms. Nerine Tan extended her gratitude to Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah, the media, and the teams at BCorp who made the event possible. She expressed her wish for everyone to experience joy and fun through the movie screening.

Following the screening of Kung Fu Panda 4, the children were treated to a delicious lunch at Kenny Rogers Roasters in Berjaya Times Square.
