BRINGING GREATER ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITY TO STUDENTS IN PAPAR

PAPAR, 27 September 2026 – For students at St. Joseph Secondary School, Papar (“SJS”), getting to
school, participating in activities and pursuing opportunities beyond the classroom will now be easier
and more accessible, following the contribution of a 28-seater coaster bus by Berjaya Cares Foundation
(“BCF”), the charitable arm of Berjaya Corporation Berhad (“BCorp”).
The contribution is part of BCF’s continued efforts to support education and student welfare in rural and suburban communities. The new bus will provide students with safer, more comfortable and reliable transportation for their daily commute, as well as for educational trips, school programmes, competitions and other activities that enrich their learning experience.

In addition to the bus, BCF also distributed 500 Bakul Rahmah food baskets filled with daily necessities to underprivileged students and their families, extending the initiative beyond transportation support to
provide practical assistance to the wider community.
The contribution was presented by Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, Chairman of BCF, to Ms Jenith Mahibol, Principal of SJS, witnessed by YB Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Minister of Domestic Trade and Living Costs and Member of Parliament for Papar besides other invited guests during a ceremony held at the school today.
Commenting on the initiative, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan said, “Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and dream without being held back by circumstances. We hope this contribution will make a meaningful difference to the students and teachers of St. Joseph Secondary School, while giving them greater opportunities to participate in experiences both inside and outside the classroom.”
