CORPORATE PROFILE
Berjaya Corporation Berhad
The Berjaya Group’s journey began in 1984, when our Founder and Advisor, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, acquired a controlling stake in Berjaya Kawat Berhad from its founders, Broken Hill Proprietary Ltd of Australia and National Iron & Steel Mills of Singapore. The company was later renamed Berjaya Industrial Berhad, marking the start of its transformation and growth.
In October 1988, following a major restructuring exercise, Berjaya Group Berhad (formerly known as Inter-Pacific Industrial Group Berhad) became the holding company
of Berjaya Industrial Berhad. Inter-Pacific Industrial Group Berhad was originally incorporated as Raleigh Berhad in 1967 as a bicycle manufacturer and listed on the then Stock Exchange of Kuala Lumpur.
A subsequent restructuring in 2005 saw Berjaya Corporation Berhad assume the listing status of Berjaya Group Berhad on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities, with its new shares listed on 3 January 2006.
These key milestones laid the foundation for Berjaya’s continued expansion, diversification, and long-term growth.
