The job overview of the Inspector of Works (Architectural) is to ensure construction works are carried out according to the client’s standards, specifications and schedule. They will be in charge of supervision of all ongoing activities on site for reporting purposes. They must have a wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, specifications, trades, methods and legal requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Coordinating with consultants and contractors for the preparation and interpretation of plans and specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with contracts, plans, specifications, regulations, and standards by contractors.
- Monitoring all movement of materials into the project site.
- Responsible for the inspection of workmanship and compliance to the method of statement of construction.
- Monitoring and ensuring all scheduled construction works are maintained.
- Regularly keeping track of the site records and their details, such as regular progress reports and their delays (if any), the site manpower, the weather conditions, drawings received, instructions received from the superintendent officer, etc.
- Establishing a professional working relationship with the contractors’ staff, carrying out daily site inspections, ensuring all correction work is done properly, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Attending various meetings which include site meetings, technical meetings, sub-contractor meetings, etc.
- Coordinating all site issues and highlighting construction status to your superior/consultants.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma in Architecture.
- Registered with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) as an Inspector Of Works.
- Physically fit.
- Has extensive experience/knowledge in the building industry, especially in residential (high rise) projects, including knowledge of method of construction, specifications, materials, work sequences, etc.
- Able to read and understand architecture construction drawings.
- Able to coordinate designs among other IOWs for construction.
