The business began in 1979 as Cosway (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Cosway M), a multi-level marketing (MLM) company and was acquired by Berjaya Group in 1994. In December 2009, Berjaya Holdings (HK) Limited (a subsidiary of the Berjaya Group) completed the acquisition of Cosway M and eCosway.com Sdn. Bhd. (eCosway) and subsequently changed its name to Cosway Corporation Limited and was listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Through a privatisation exercise which was completed in June 2012, Cosway became a wholly owned subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Berhad.
Cosway currently markets more than 1,000 consumer products comprising health and nutritional supplements, personal care products, water filtration systems, cosmetics and fragrances, skincare, body shaping lingerie, home and car care and food and beverages under its own in-house brands. Unlike typical MLM companies, Cosway sources almost all of its products from independent manufacturers, leading researchers and ingredient suppliers and as such the Group is able to capitalise on the advanced technological and scientific innovations of the global manufacturing and research community.
Cosway’s products are available at more than 700 exclusive stores and leader centres located at hypermarkets, high density residential developments, major shopping malls and housing areas globally.
Capitalising on the current global trend of a shift towards online shopping, Cosway is aggressively enhancing its e-commerce business model with new websites, online transactions and facilities, and making a strong presence on the social media platform.
Cosway recently completed its re-branding exercise to reflect its aim to keep abreast with the demands of today’s customers. Its new refreshing logo and tagline, “Enriching Lives The Smarter Way” underlines Cosway’s vision in targeting younger and more sophisticated consumers. A new concept store called “Cosway Experience Store” was launched in September 2017.
