Tsunami Charity Drive at Berjaya Megamall

Chinese radio station, Star Rfm 988 organised a charity drive for the tsunami victims called 988 Red Drive of Love Charity on 22 January 2005 at the main concourse of Berjaya Megamall, Kuantan. Special performances by local chinese artists and games were organised by the radio stations deejays to entertain the crowd and at the same time encourages the public to donate for a good cause.
Meanwhile on 30 January 2005, Jabatan Kebudayaan, Kesenian and Warisan Negeri Pahang organised a program called Persembahan Amal Jalinan Kasih in aid of the tsunami victims at the concourse area. Colourful cultural performances by the dancers from the department entertained the crowd. A donation box was later circulated by the dancers around the complex to collect donation from the audience.
MusicCanteen Charity Concert in aid of the Asia Tsunami Disaster Fund also took place at the complex on 20 February 2005. The live concert which was jointly organised by the New Straits Times and PanGlobal Insurance Berhad was held at the open air area outside the complex. Program lined up include special performances by famous local pop rock band and local artists with their hit songs and games to entertain and attract the crowd to the concert.
