Berjaya recently donated RM45,000 to the Nanyang Press Foundation for the purchase of a unit of dialysis machine at the Tung Shin hospital, Kuala Lumpur. Nanyang Press Foundation is organising a fund raising project to set up the 4th dialysis centre in Tung Shin hospital.
Meanwhile, on 3 December 2004, Sports Toto donated one corporate box worth RM15,000 to The Star's "The Return of the Shaolin Kung Fu Masters" performance, a thrilling display of legendary, regal and fiery Shaolin Kung Fu skills by the elite kung fu masters from Henan province, China. The world class martial arts performance was brought in by The Star publications in aid of the Tung Shin Hospital, a community hospital that offers medical treatment and health services free or at a reduced rates of the needy.
"The Return of the Shaolin Kung Fu Masters" was performed on 15 and 16 December 2004 in Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. The 32-member troupe from the Chinese Songshan Shaolin Wushu Centre in Henan, China had performed in over 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, America and China.
