Malam Amal at Berjaya Georgetown

On 8 November 2004, Berjaya Georgetown Hotel collaborated with the government and private organisations such as UMNO Negeri Pulau Pinang, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang-Malay Chamber of Commerce, MAS and CELCOM to organise a "Malam Amal" to celebrate the DeepaRaya festival for the underprivileged at Berjaya Georgetown Hotel, Penang. About 50 children and old folks from Sri Ramakrishna Asrama, Rumah Anak Yatim Balik Pulau, Penang Home For The Infirm & Aged, and Rumah Orang Tua Tak Berwaris were treated to a hearty dinner while being entertained by the hotel's inhouse band. The children and old folks also received "Duit Raya" and goodie bags from the sponsors.
