Berjaya Assets Berhad (formerly known as Matrix International Berhad) was incorporated in Malaysia and was listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 17 August 1978.

The principal activities of the Company are investment holding and provision of management services to its subsidiary companies.

The principal activities of the subsidiary companies consist of:

1. property management, investment and development;
2. operation of theme park and theatre;
3. management of food mall
4. number forecast lotteries in Sarawak;
5. general trading and commission agent;
6. provision of lottery consultancy and related services; and
7. investment holding.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Berjaya Times Square Sdn Bhd operates a shopping mall, Berjaya Times Square ("BTS"), Malaysia's largest inner-city shopping-cum-leisure mall located strategically at the centre hub of the Golden Triangle. Occupying a built-up area of approximately 7.5 million square feet on a 10-acre land, BTS comprises a 12-level shopping mall and two 46-storey towers of service suites.

The shopping mall area which measures approximately 3.5 million square feet, houses a departmental store, a supermarket, 700 retail outlets, an indoor theme park – Cosmo's World Theme Park, a 5-storey high screen Cosmo's Theatre, 9-screen Cineplex and a 48-lane bowling alley.

The Company's gaming division, operated by Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd , is the exclusive agent for Sarawak Turf & Equestrian Club which operates the number forecast business in Sarawak.

The company started operations in August 1995 upon the issuance of licence to Sarawak Turf & Equestrian Club under the Pool Betting Act 1967 to conduct the 1+3D Big/Small, 3D Big and 3D Small “B” Series games.
